Our team of acolytes continues to be a source of pride for our congregation. They serve at the altar on Sunday mornings and on other special occasions, such as weddings and funerals. Anyone who is in the sixth grade or older is welcome to serve as an acolyte. Training is provided. We thank everyone for their faithful service.
Chalice Bearers, Intercessors & Lectors
Our licensed Chalice Bearers, or Eucharistic Ministers, assist with the distribution of the wine at the time of communion. Our Intercessors are those who read the Prayers of the People. Like the Intercessors, our Lectors (those who read the Scripture lessons in worship) do not need to be licensed by the Bishop to serve in this capacity, so we provide training here for those interested in serving in this ministry.
The Altar Guild is responsible for preparing the Altar for Sunday and Wednesday services and also for baptisms, weddings and funerals. All the brass and silver is cleaned at least twice a year. It is behind the scenes work but it is very fulfilling and rewarding.
I thank all Altar guild members for their loyal sense of duty and the love that they show in taking care of God’s Altar.
The Altar Guild is always looking for new members.
